Since I saw kobold at Inter-BEE for the first time, I always wanted to use this equipment in my shootings. Now after having used it, I can say that kobold completely fulfilled my expectations. This time, our film budget was very limited and we had to strictly follow the schedule; the kobold DW200 and DW 400 became our strong partner to make this possible.

Nearly at the end of our shooting, we experienced the feature of kobold lamps in the rain.  Although we did not take care of them under heavy rain, the light never failed. All we had to do was just wipe off the units and put them back in the carrying case after shooting, which makes me feel that kobold is very reliable. Not just the fact that they could be operated in the rain, but also the compact design and variety of accessories were really useful.

They worked perfectly from home wall plugs, as well as from small power generators, and that feature made it very helpful to set the lighting as fill light and sometimes even key light etc. The kobold lights and ballast are very compact, light weight and immediate hot restrike. This makes them easier to handle and more reliable than other HMI’s especially when the lights often have to be changed in position and in a very short time. Just great, the best lighting equipment I ever used.

PDN – one of the prime magazines of professional photography in English worldwide – has selected  power pack
Scoro A4S as flash unit of the year.
POWER PACK OF THE YEAR – Broncolor Scoro A4
“…Though we caught a lot of flak from Broncolor fanatics for daring to compare the Scoro A4 (favorably!) to the Profoto Pro-8s Air, the fact of the matter is that you can’t really go wrong with either of these two power packs. In the categories of quality of light and overall speed, it was pretty much a dead heat. The Scoro A4S really shined through when it came to control. First off, with a maximum output of at 3200 w/s in all three heads, you’re getting a more powerful and more versatile pack than the Profoto at about the same price. Secondly, the amount of tweaking you can do at that power whether it’s with the asymmetrical control in all three channels; the independent color temperature djustment; and the deep and user-friendly interface and helpful LCD screen, pushes the Scoro A4S to the front of the pack for studio generators…”
